John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado who focused on folk pop music brought joy to millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr., born Henry John Deutschendorf at Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, was in love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his state of origin led many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. In 2011, Denver was selected as the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. He is the face of Colorado to a large number of people all over the world. It is a fact that when I travel you come across someone from another end of the planet, someone of New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief involvement with folk bands which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff created the song along with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver heard an early version he knew right away the song was likely to become one of the top hits. The artist recorded the song only a few days afterward following a performance to crowds of enthusiastic fans at Washington D.C.
