Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people, and achieved superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits with a lot of them being set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled in Aspen. Denver's state anthems, which are well-known, have brought many fans to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said it was because John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. In 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Denver is viewed as a symbol of Colorado to people from across the world. Through my travels I've encountered people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado, the first words they say are"Oh John Denver. Brown admitted. Take Me Home Country Roads was among Denver's top 10 solo achievement after having performed in small folk groups. It was written, co-written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that the song could be the next hit single. After performing the track at Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver released the song a couple of days later.
